Geocaching in Oslomarka | Links | Bugrace 2004 | Oslo Annual Event 2003 | Oslomarka

Several Micro Travel Bugs from Norway and Sweden are participants in a racefrom Osaka, Japan, to Oslo, Norway. They are racing for geocaching fun - and they're racing in support of the victims for the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. Each participant has paid a starting fee equivalent of 15 USD in support of the aid effort in Sudan by the Red Cross.
Some geocachers in Norway have contributed a starting fee without actually joining the competition.

This is a Bug Aid project. We encourage geocachers around the world to organise similar fund-raising efforts for the benefit of our less fortunate fellow human beings in Darfur. Think of it this way: While we play around with our expensive GPSrs, visiting hundreds of thousands of caches on the planet, 900 caches in Norway, and 140 in Japan, there's only one in Sudan. People there obviously have other priorities.
Geocachers tend to be creative people with great ideas. Think of how you and you geocacher friends can make a difference.

You can support Bug Aid and have a good read at the same time. By buying books, CDs or other goods from amazon.co.uk via the links below, you will generate a referral fee. This means that a small percentage of what you pay for your stuff will support this initiative. All referral fees earned while the race lasts will go to the Red Cross aid efforts in Darfur.
